  • The applicant should have computer skill on MS word, excel, power point and others.

  • Experiences on network/linkage/collaboration with union/upazila/district leveladministration and national level network and like-minded organizations.

  • Candidates must have valid Motor bike driving license.

  • Willing to stay at upazila level with frequent visit to the remote areas.

  • Candidate should have a good knowledge on safeguarding (Child Protection, Gender &Anti sexual harassment).

Responsibilities & Context:

DASCOH Foundation is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Area Officer for its project titled ‘Environmental Human Rights for a Just Transition: Strengthened Local CSOs Transforming Climate Hotspots into Resilient Communities (ENGAGE). This project will be implemented in Tanore and Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi district and Manda and Mohadebpur Upazila of Naogaon district. The project is being implemented in collaboration with other NGOs in 6 districts having NETZ Bangladesh as the lead organisation. European Union (EU) is financially supporting the project. The Position will be available from 29 March 2026 to 31 December 2028. The detailed eligibility requirements of the position as mentioned below:

Job descriptions/Responsibilities:

  • Provide conceptual and strategic guidance to the team members in consultation with Project Coordinator.

  • Efficient management of the project interventions leading a project team includes Field Facilitators working in two districts under supervision.

  • Ensure quality implementation of the planned activities of the project.

  • Organise and train young and adult Environmental Human Rights Defenders (EHRDs), on conflict sensitive human rights-based approach, Environmental Human Rights at the nexus of climate change, Gender Based Violence (GBV), and community mobilisation, participatory monitoring and reporting etc.

  • Facilitate local level conflict sensitive democratic dialogue, joint planning and action, public events different training and meeting in collaboration with Training and Advocacy Officer.

  • Ensure appropriate selection of target group and formation of different forum (Student forum, CSOs from village to district level, theatre group etc) and capacitating them.

  • Document the projects learnings, challenges and compile the respective areas monthly quantitative reports and prepare the periodic reports as per project requirements.

  • Advocacy, networking and communication with local public authority and relevant stakeholders.

  • Any other activities of the project assigned by the supervisor on demands.
