Responsibilities & Context:

Ensuring technical guidance and support to the Senior Project Officer, Vocational Training- Electrical in center based vocational training on relevant skill trade. The position contributes to increasing the quality of the skill training activities according to plan & proposal. This position will work cooperatively with the Project Manager, LSD in effective organization and facilitation of the vocational training.

Community Engagement and Learner Enrollment:

  • Lead community mobilization efforts to promote Electrical training opportunities.
  • Conduct surveys and select eligible learners, ensuring proper enrollment in the training program.

Training Center Management:

  • Ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of training centers and facilities.
  • Oversee the safe use and maintenance of all training equipment.

Training Delivery and Facilitation:

  • Lead the operational side of center-based skill training programs in Electrical trades.
  • Facilitate training sessions according to the approved training modules and ensure effective delivery of technical content.
  • Provide technical assistance and expertise to enhance the learning experience of vocational training participants.
  • Curriculum Development and Improvement:
  • Collaborate in the development and refinement of training materials and modules.
  • Suggest and implement necessary modifications to training content based on feedback and emerging industry standards.

Learner Support and Follow-Up:

  • Monitor learner attendance and conduct door-to-door visits for follow-up when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to learners, ensuring their progress and addressing any issues that arise.

Quality Assurance and Monitoring:

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, LSD to ensure the quality of training provided to learners.
  • Perform regular monitoring, reporting, and problem-solving to ensure the successful implementation of training activities.

Assessments and Evaluation:

  • Lead both formal and non-formal assessments to evaluate learner progress and training effectiveness.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to Technical Trainers in conducting assessments.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project support services to ensure the smooth execution of project activities.
  • Attend meetings, provide reports, and monitor the performance of field staff.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and submit internal and external reports as required by the supervisor.
  • Support the organization and facilitation of seminars, workshops, and training events related to the vocational training program.

Safeguarding and Compliance:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
