Job Purpose
This position is responsible for technical guidance and support to enhance gender equality and community empowerment initiatives under the Integrated Development Programme (IDP). The role ensures the design and implementation of gender-sensitive, inclusive, and participatory interventions, contributing to women’s empowerment, equitable community development, and alignment with BRAC’s values and programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee gender and community empowerment activities of IDP and provide technical guidance to implementers to ensure effective program delivery.
Develop and maintain annual and monthly work plans to achieve programmatic targets.
Conduct regular field monitoring and follow-up to ensure proper implementation of activities.
Organise and facilitate capacity development sessions on gender and community empowerment for staff, communities and relevant stakeholders.
Lead the planning and execution of events related to Gender, Community Empowerment, and Legal Protection components.
Establish and maintain liaison and coordination with BRAC – SELP, GJD, government agencies, NGOs and local government institutions.
Support the formation and performance of popular theatre groups to promote community engagement.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of reports to the relevant management, supporting informed decision-making.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
