Experience:
Masters in Agriculture (Agronomy/ Horticulture/ Plant Pathology/ Entomology/ Soil Science etc.) or any relevant subject from any recognised University.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3 years of experiences in development sector including Agriculture, and climate change. Experiences and skill in advocacy and working with the Local Government Institutions. Proven experience managing operational components on large, complex donor-funded projects (with a strong preference for past USAID-funded project management experience)

JOB PURPOSE
Managing Adaptation Clinics of the Project to provide technical solutions to the farmers and contribute to increase farmer’s crop production and income, through extending climate adaptive agriculture to the farmer’s field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, execute and manage the adaptation clinic component of the programme to address technical solutions for the farmer`s immediate problems and long-term climatic challenges.
Provide necessary technical support on crop management including cropping plan, disease, pest and fertilizer management at farmer’s field.
Prepare of technical training module on crop production technologies and provide training and orientation to the programme participants.
Support programme development team in designing climate adaptive agriculture interventions for the smallholder farmers to increase yield, income and resilience.
Promote agri- mechanisation and improved storage facilities both in community and household level;
Participatory, site-specific mapping, beneficiary selection, and mobilization of community-based management structures for climate-adaptive agricultural solutions.
Strength climate resilient value chains and market linkages for alternative, resilient livelihoods.
Establish and maintain a quality liaison and coordinate with local, regional and national level stakeholders.
Supervision and Monitoring of the project activities related to the project outputs and outcomes.
Bringing innovations to the farmers’ field to make them resilient to climate change impacts.
Conducting socio-economic study on adoption of best practices and evaluation of climate smart technology at farmers’ field.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
