Job Context:
∎ Karmojibi Nari (KN) is going to start a new project titled “Securing Rights for Domestic Workers in Bangladesh” funded by OXFAM-GB from 01 August 2022- 31 March 2023 (8 Months) and applications are called for the post of Social Mobilizer in this project.
∎ The Securing Rights of Women Domestic Workers in Bangladesh project (in brief: Securing Rights Project) aims to improve the well-being of women domestic workers by enabling them to access their rights to engage in decent and dignified work. The five-year project will build on the momentum created upon approval of the Domestic Worker Protection and Welfare Policy (2015) by Government of Bangladesh, that recognizes domestic work as a profession and extends several rights and protections to domestic workers. The ultimate outcome for Securing Rights project is- Increased social and economic well-being for women domestic workers (DW) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under overall supervision of the Project Manager and direct supervision of the Project Superviser, the successful candidate will be responsible to assist in implementation of Securing Rights project activities particularly in community engagement, mobilization, and skills training to facilitate the successful implementation of Securing Rights project activities at field level.
∎ The incumbent will be assigned to the following tasks:
∎ Carried out community mobilization and training activities to organize women domestic workers, to facilitate soft skills training, to campaign in community and local level to secure the rights of women domestic workers.
∎ Maintain close communication with domestic workers community members, including with community leaders, influencers, and different stakeholders to initiate and implement different activities of Securing Rights project.
∎ Women Domestic workers community visit, project participants selection according to selection guideline and criteria, registration with informed consent, establishment of new women domestic workers groups through area mapping and organizing monthly group meetings.
∎ Facilitate the formation of national domestic workers forum/network
∎ Facilitate, assist, coordinate, and ensure registered women domestic workers participation in skills training of Securing Rights project. Facilitate different community level meetings, and organize training sessions, workshops, communication platforms, etc.
∎ Updating project database with the appropriate information of project participants.
∎ Linkage and coordinate with other project partner organizations for ensuring women domestic workers participation in skills training, awareness raising activities, policy advocacy meetings in local and national level, and job placement.
∎ File and document all community mobilization activities including different forms, both in hard and soft versions. Take and properly document quality photographs from all activities and events.
∎ Assist in data collection, collation and maintaining beneficiary's records. Compile short stories, case studies, and reflections from targeted groups of Securing Rights project
∎ Participate and support in project assessments, surveys, and monitoring activities with target communities when require.
∎ Foster an atmosphere of solidarity and unity within the beneficiaries; and adhere to the principals of 'Do no Harm' throughout the project implementation process.
∎ Perform such other duties as may be assigned including assessment of natural disaster cases and distribution of supports to affected people as may be required.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 33 years
∎ At least 2-3 year (s) experience to work the Domestic Workers
∎ Applicants must have COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.

Salary: Negotiable

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Facilities will be provided as per organization & Project Policy after confirmation.
∎ Two days weekend (Friday & Saturday)

In this regard KN has been implementing various projects for the Readymade Garment Workers in Bangladesh. As an activist?s organization, KN also built up awareness of the cell members to increase the capacity and skills to deal with violence against women in family, community and working places since its inception.
