Experience:
Minimum post-graduate degree in the field of Environmental Science/ Agriculture/ Forestry/ Social Science from a recognized educational institution.
Minimum 3 years of experience with demonstrated skills in a similar position of project implementation with aptitude in coordination and communication.
Candidates having working experience in the coastal belt of Bangladesh will be given priority.

Project Brief:
Biodiversity for Resilient Livelihoods (B4RL) in the Modified Ganges Delta of Bangladesh Project aims to promote improved management systems that are inclusive and adaptive which enhance social-ecological resilience, ensuring sustainable use and protection of natural resources in Bangladesh`s modified lower Ganges Delta covering Shyamnagar sub-district of Satkhira, Dacope and Koyra sub-districts of Khulna, Magura Sadar and Shalikha sub-districts of Magura district. The project will restore, enhance, and protect ecosystems-biodiversity towards building “resilient social-ecological production landscapes.” These interventions will address three areas of concern: climate change, disaster, and resilience by demonstrating ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR), and biodiversity-focused livelihoods as viable local adaptations to climate-induced threats in a gender, youth, and social-inclusive approach. The project envisages sensitizing and mobilizing 20,000 marginalized and vulnerable households from local communities in project sites.
Part I: Job Statement
The Site Officer will be responsible for managing, implementing, staff mentoring and close monitoring of project activities maintaining liaison with community, local, and regional counterparts.
Part II: Job Responsibilities and Tasks
A. Responsibilities:
Overall implementation at the site and touch point for the regional and central project teams.
Oversees and facilitates technical and other engagement issues related to wetland and forest conservation, nature-based solutions, livelihoods, agriculture, gender, and inclusivity at the site level.
Coordinates and ensures delivery of support to site level.
Regularly update and report to the Field Manager, and closely work with the Documentation and Reporting Officer on project activity progress (quantitative and qualitative data), and challenges.
Support preparation and reviews of detailed implementation plans (DIP).
Support the introduction and implementation of the TIMBY (This Is My Backyard) wildlife monitoring platform used to help safeguard the ecosystem.
Liaise and coordinate with government counterparts including the Department of Fisheries, Forest Department, Department of Land, BWDB, and local administration and local government bodies.
B. Illustrative activities:
Conduct and coordinate day-to-day field work for successful implementation of B4RL activities planned under different components including cross-cutting issues.
Ensure financial and administrative support for the Site teams for smooth and successful implementation of field activities within the stipulated timeframe.
Coordinate and ensure technical support for the site teams both from regional and central teams.
Ensure monitoring of all the B4RL project activities is carried out according to the detailed implementation plan and work plan, deliverables, following organizational procedures, and maintaining quality.
Organize and conduct training, workshops, communication with communities (CwC), community consultation and outreach events, etc.
Regular monitoring visits at the project site under B4RL and CBOs/VSLAs/ VCGs
Monitor the progress of the planned activities and ensure timely submission of technical and financial reports.
Ensure proper maintenance of electronic and hardcopy files, documents of B4RL ensuring confidentiality and data security.
Ensure monthly progress updates and provide data for B4RL MIS system updates.
Track risks and challenges of the project and update the team regularly.
C. General:
Adhere to organizational policies and project standards.
Ensure safety and well-being of team members and participants.
Promote and endorse safeguarding policy among staff.
Follow reporting procedures for safeguarding related incidents and encourage others to do so
Perform any other task as and when assigned by the Management.
Salary: The monthly consolidated salary (all-inclusive) BDT 60,000/-
