PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to oversee the field installation of all solar rooftops across the 33 establishments of BRAC while providing technical knowledge on panel installations, associated civil works and quality check. Being a site engineer, he is responsible for field operations and taking all decisions that require technical expertise.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Checking technical designs and drawings (electrical layouts, structural designs, civil works) for accuracy and to ensure that they are followed correctly.
Managing the overall construction and installation works
Ensuring that all the technical specifications of the equipment and materials supplied by the Contractor meet the agreed standards.
Ensuring that project packages meet the standard specifications and compliances budgets and/or timescales as per the Contract
Regular coordination and supervision of contractors’ work
Preparing site report while regular reporting to the Supervisor and Programme Head
Managing any risks, able to solve technical issues on site
Maintaining liaison and close coordination with the other Programmes, Services and Enterprises of BRAC as well as relevant Coordinators in the field level
Review and take ownership of project schedules for construction and delivery.
Preparation of an Operation and Maintenance Manual for the BRAC Maintenance Department after project completion to ensure proper functionality onwards.
Conduct training on operation, maintenance and required technical guidance for the field level staffs of relevant BRAC Programmes, Departments, Enterprises and other entities.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
Education:
B.Sc. or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Renewable Energy, Solar Engineering, Energy Management, or similar subjects.
Experience:
Minimum 03 years of experience in the field level implementation of Solar PV or Rooftop Solar projects. Experience of managing solar rooftop projects of more than 1MW will be prioritized.
