Experience:
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Preferred Qualification Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) preferred.
Licensing Requirement Valid registration with Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
Experience
Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience required.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or senior nursing role preferred.
Experience in maternal, newborn, and child health is highly desirable.
Humanitarian or refugee health experience is an advantage.

Strong clinical knowledge in nursing care, EmONC, IMCI, and emergency response.

Purpose of the Position
The Senior Staff Nurse is responsible for leading and ensuring high-quality, patient-centred nursing care across OPD, IPD, maternity, newborn, and emergency units in a 24/7 Mother and Child Hospital (MCH) providing CEmOC services for Rohingya and host communities in Camp 21.The role focuses on:
Ensuring safe, evidence-based, and quality nursing care in line with national MP-EHS, EmONC standards, and WHO/GoB guidelines.
Supervising and supporting nursing teams to ensure efficient clinical service delivery.
Strengthening maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes through early identification, stabilization, referral, and continuous care.
Promoting respectful, gender-sensitive, and inclusive care for women, newborns, children, adolescents, and vulnerable populations.
Clinical Leadership & Service Delivery
Lead triage and prioritization of patients, ensuring timely emergency response and patient flow management.
Supervise nursing care in OPD, IPD, maternity, newborn, and emergency units.
Ensure correct implementation of IMCI, EmONC, and nursing protocols for patient assessment, treatment, and referral.
Oversee administration of medications (oral, IM, IV) and ensure safe nursing practices.
Supervise postnatal, antenatal, and newborn care including monitoring for danger signs and complications.
Support emergency care procedures including oxygen therapy, IV cannulation, resuscitation support, and stabilization.
Ensure proper coordination with Medical Officers, Midwives, Lab, Pharmacy, and Nutrition teams.
Maternal, Newborn & Emergency Care Supervision
Supervise labour room and maternity care activities, ensuring adherence to safe delivery and infection prevention standards.
Oversee pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and ensure safe patient transfer and recovery monitoring.
Ensure newborn care practices including thermal care, breastfeeding support, and danger sign monitoring.
Support emergency response and escalation of critically ill patients.
Supervision, Mentorship & Capacity Building
Provide daily supervision, guidance, and mentorship to staff nurses and junior staff.
Ensure proper shift management, duty allocation, and continuity of care through structured handovers.
Conduct on-the-job coaching and support for skill development of nursing staff.
Participate in and facilitate clinical trainings, refresher sessions, and case reviews.
Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
Ensure strict adherence to IPC protocols including hand hygiene, PPE use, and safe clinical practices.
Supervise waste segregation, cleaning, and sterilization of clinical areas.
Promote safe injection practices and maintain clean, safe patient care environments.
Documentation, Reporting & Stock Management
Ensure accurate completion of nursing documentation, registers, IMCI forms, partographs, and treatment records.
Oversee timely reporting of daily, weekly, and monthly service data.
Monitor stock levels of medicines, consumables, and emergency supplies and report shortages.
Ensure proper handover documentation during shift changes.
Referral & Continuity of Care
Ensure timely identification and referral of critical cases following standard protocols.
Supervise safe transfer of patients within facility or to higher-level care.
Provide patient and caregiver education on treatment, follow-up, and danger signs.
Quality Improvement & Coordination
Participate in clinical meetings, audits, MPDSR reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support implementation of clinical guidelines and service improvement plans.
Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams for integrated patient care.
Safeguarding & Humanitarian Responsibilities
Uphold Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and organizational Code of Conduct.
Ensure confidentiality, dignity, and survivor-centred care for all patients.
Respond appropriately to emergencies, outbreaks, or humanitarian crises as required.
Other Duties
Perform any other responsibilities assigned by Medical Officer, Senior Clinical Staff, or Project Coordinator.
Monthly Gross Salary: BDT 59,545,/= (Only)
Bonus and other benefits: 10% of the monthly gross salary.
