Experience:
Training or certification in Early Childhood Education, curriculum development, or play-based learning approaches will be considered an advantage.
Education, Early Childhood Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or relevant discipline.
At least 3 years of professional experience in early childhood development, education programme design, curriculum development, or learning materials development, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
Knowledge of ECD, play-based learning, inclusive education, and safeguarding.
Skilled in material development, communication, facilitation, and coordination.
Creative, adaptable, detail-oriented, and computer proficient.
The Senior Project Officer – Material Developer is responsible for supporting the design, development, adaptation, and quality assurance of play-based, inclusive, and culturally relevant learning and caregiver engagement materials under the BRAC–LEGO strategic partnership. The role contributes to ensuring high-quality materials that promote early childhood development, learning through play, and psychosocial wellbeing in humanitarian settings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop age-appropriate, inclusive, and play-based learning materials for children aged 0–8 years
Develop engaging materials such as storybooks, activity cards, puppets, games, posters, and facilitator tools aligned with ECD and play-based pedagogy
Support development of materials for key programme components including responsive caregiving, early stimulation, play-based learning, and school readiness
Adapt and contextualize materials to reflect local language, culture, traditions, and practices of Rohingya and host communities
Integrate key messages related to child development, inclusion (SEND), caregiver engagement, and wellbeing into materials
Ensure materials are inclusive and accessible for children with diverse needs and abilities
Collaborate with technical teams (ECD, MERL, Capacity Building, QA) to ensure alignment with programme design and objectives
Assist in piloting and testing materials in field settings and collect feedback from facilitators, caregivers, and children
Revise and improve materials based on field feedback, monitoring findings, and programme learning
Support development of facilitator guides, manuals, and session tools to ensure effective implementation
Maintain proper documentation, version control, and archiving of all materials
Promote use of low-cost, locally available resources for development of play materials
Ensure materials are safe, durable, and appropriate for use in humanitarian environments
Support training and orientation of facilitators on the use of developed materials
Coordinate with Head Office technical teams and external experts for review and quality assurance
Ensure safeguarding principles are integrated into all materials and processes
Practice, promote, and adhere to safeguarding policies and reporting procedures
