The Senior Project Officer – English Language will be responsible for delivering and supervising English language instruction in English and Digital Literacy Labs across camps and host community locations. The role focuses on curriculum-based training that supports language development, IELTS preparation, and digital integration. S/he will guide learners toward achieving proficiency, manage daily classroom activities, ensure quality teaching materials are used effectively, and contribute to learners' preparedness for employment or further education.
Training Delivery and Learner Engagement
Design and deliver engaging, level-appropriate English language lessons focusing on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Tailor instruction for diverse learners using visual, auditory, and tech-integrated teaching methods.
Facilitate regular formative and summative assessments to evaluate learner progress.
Offer individual feedback and learning support based on learner performance and goals.
Support learners preparing for the IELTS examination, ensuring exposure to test formats and practice tools.
Learning Environment Management and Resource Use
Ensure proper setup and functioning of lab learning environments, including usage of digital learning tools.
Maintain, track, and replenish educational materials, teaching aids, and learning kits.
Create a culturally respectful and inclusive classroom environment to promote attendance and motivation.
Monitor classroom attendance and identify absenteeism trends for early intervention.
Ensure that safeguarding, gender inclusion, and disability-sensitive practices are implemented in the learning space.
Coordination, Reporting, and Capacity Support
Coordinate with other Senior Project Officers and trainers to standardize delivery across locations.
Maintain up-to-date records on learners, attendance, progress reports, and assessments.
Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports, lesson summaries, and incident documentation.
Support training-of-trainers (ToT) sessions and refresher courses as required.
Participate in coordination meetings and contribute feedback for curriculum adaptation and program enhancement.
Safeguarding:
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
