Experience:
Diploma/ Bachelor in Civil engineering from any UGC approved university or institute
KNOWLEDGE: BRAC’s values and mission, humanitarian and development sector, local refugee context to identify risks/threats, Basic computer knowledge on MS office applications including Civil engineering software (Essential).
SKILLS: Budgeting, communication, writing, monitoring and supervision, activities implementation.
COMPETENCIES: Facilitating group meetings, managing timelines, oral and written fluency in both Bangla and English, handling critical issues with relevant stakeholders

This position is responsible to plan, implement, supervise, and monitor construction repair and maintenance activities and site development/improvement activities closely with WFP’s and BRAC’s DRR unit including supervision of Host community Volunteer- Agri infrasturcture/CFW volunteers.
Prepare, and monitor work plans, project schedules and other relevant activities carried out to achieve agricultural market infrastructures
Assist Project Engineer in developing assessment methodologies, prioritization tools to identify the most vulnerable infrastructures/facilities which needs repair, retrofit or reconstruction, and improvement of service facilities, construction of ABSC/Grain Storage/Aggregation Center/ boundary/guide/protection/slope maintenance walls
Develop Civil engineering plan and Structural drawings, Electrical plan, plumbing and sanitary details, and working drawings of each.
Supervise Preparation of Cost estimation including BoQ of each building and allied structures boundary walls, toilet etc.
Ensure that all design, planning and site activities comply with appropriate local, national and international standards and regulations as required.
Coordinate with GoB Officers, MIS/MEAL/Data and planning officer for identification, site selection, and data collection.
Supervise the implementation and monitor all construction-related activities in line with approved design, drawings and document variations and adjustments wherever required due to site conditions and approve variation orders.
Verify payments (Cash Distribution/Billing etc.) for the work done after ensuring compliance with standards, specification, and test reports.
Monitoring and reporting of the progress and identifying issues timely and work towards the solution of those issues.
Ensure environmental disposal of the excavated, dismantled or construction wastes.
Ensuring safety of the construction labour’s/workers through following safety practices.
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
