Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Senior Project Officer, Community Centers is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the overall operation of community centers under HCMP. The role ensures quality service delivery, effective staff supervision, donor coordination, reporting, budgeting, and compliance with BRAC policies while strengthening community engagement and protection outcomes.

  • Oversee and coordinate the operation of all community centers within the assigned zone.

  • Conduct community consultations to design and improve center operations based on community needs.

  • Manage visitors, high-level delegates, and donor representatives ensuring proper coordination and representation.

  • Provide frontline support to staff regarding material, administrative, and logistical needs.

  • Provide technical and managerial supervision including guidance, attendance monitoring, performance evaluation, and mentoring.

  • Assist in planning and implementation of program activities including scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Monitor progress and effectiveness of program activities, collect data to track outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.

  • Address harmful rumors and misconceptions to prevent negative impacts within the community.

  • Report overall sector updates to CBP Lead.

  • Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports for partners and sectoral coordination under HCMP-BRAC.

  • Work with donors to create and maintain ongoing partnerships.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with MEAL, Audit, Finance, and HR departments for effective collaboration.

  • Participate in budget preparation and review processes and follow up on expenditures.

  • Oversee and maintain billing processes in alignment with BRAC internal procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Contribute to procurement and logistics support activities for acquiring necessary goods and services to maintain well structured community center.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of team members, promoting and enforcing safeguarding policies and standards, and acting as a key source of guidance and support.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so
