Experience Requirement:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least 1 year of experience in youth empowerment.

  • Experience in youth development in financial sector will also be given preference.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of project implementation, youth skills development, and microenterprise promotion.

  • Strong coordination, planning, and team management skills with the ability to handle multi-district operations.

  • Sound analytical and reporting skills with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of data management, monitoring, and evaluation systems.

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills in both Bangla and English.

  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently to field locations (70% field visit).

Job Purpose: The Senior Officer – Youth Empowerment will be responsible for coordinating and executing the activities of the project “Empowering the Future” under the Entrepreneurship Development Unit (EDU) of BRAC Microfinance. This position will ensure effective implementation of project interventions including youth mobilization, sector-specific skills training, job placement, and entrepreneurship development for youths across Bangladesh. The role will also support campaign, training coordination, data management, partner liaison, and reporting to achieve the project’s overall goal of reducing youth unemployment through upskilling and enterprise creation.

Job Description:

  • Support planning, execution, and monitoring of all project activities according to the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).

  • Coordinate and supervise District/ Upazila-level implementation of youth mobilization campaigns, training sessions, and placement/entrepreneurship activities.

  • Facilitate the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of training facilitators, resource persons, and business mentors.

  • Monitor and ensure quality and timely delivery of training sessions in different trades across employment and entrepreneurship categories.

  • Coordinate job placement linkages/partnership with employer partners; facilitate entrepreneurship mentoring, and linkage with successful entrepreneurs, including financial linkage with financial institutes.

  • Collect and validate data through the project MIS and Google Form system; ensure accurate reporting on youth registration, training progress, and employment & entrepreneurship outcomes.

  • Prepare and submit periodic progress reports and documentation for internal management and donor requirements.

  • Collaborate with other BRAC’s relevant units to ensure seamless coordination and compliance with BRAC policies.

  • Contribute to knowledge management by documenting case stories, best practices, and learning for future replication.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
