Job Context:
∎ The Senior Officer- Women Economic Empowerment will perform a range of responsibilities to implement the goal of the project to enhance the reach of the project, but also improve women`s access to resources and improving production systems. Solidaridad recognizes the potential offered by digital solutions to address these challenges, work introduce two digital solutions that will not only financially empower farmers, but also strengthen their capabilities as dairy entrepreneurs. S/he will be responsible for implementing gender strategy for the project and also training content related to all the project components, including the financial inclusion system and digital advisory services. S/he will also develop gender-based training material for household-level trainings and also train the Community Mobilizers to implement them throughout the project.
∎ The Senior Officer- Women Economic Empowerment will report to the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (PME) Manager. The position will be based in Solidaridad office in Dhaka with frequent field visits to the project areas in Khulna, Jashore and Noakhali.
∎ Employment Type: Project based fixed term

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead activities related to gender analysis project scoping, planning and implementation;
∎ Undertake community based interventions for developing women's agency and relations for the adoption and adaptation of technologies, access to information and finance;
∎ Develop and test economically sustainable and compelling agriculture-based business models for women in the rural context. Document results and inform management for potential scale up project.
∎ Develop and promote digital tools to enhance women's participation in market activities and digital payment;
∎ Explore scopes for financial inclusion of women in rural perspective
∎ Implement economic empowerment activities relating to implementation of women's economic rights and strategies, engendering the economic development process and entrepreneurship initiatives
∎ As the economic empowerment programme focal point, ensure oversight on quality and timely management and reporting of activities by women entrepreneurs.
∎ Support the civil society implementing partners in monitoring, reporting and advocating for implementation of national obligations of Bangladesh.
∎ Research and analysis on understanding the gender differentiated value and use of time and resources of women and men;
∎ Promote men and women's equal rights and entitlements on land, water and eco-system services;
∎ Support effective implementation gender responsive actions towards gender inclusivity;
∎ Maintain close contacts with civil society and government partners on the implementation of economic empowerment activities
∎ Serve as the resource person for the economic empowerment initiatives and provide advisory updates to the pillar management on the interventions in this area
∎ Support the team members and/or directly facilitate the trainings and workshops for/with partners on the issues around women's economic participation.
∎ Work together with M&E team and programme staff to ensure monitoring systems appropriately seize gender outcomes;
∎ Assess the existing level of capacity within the organization; and ensure sufficient gender capacity, both internally and with partners;
∎ Facilitate positive changes in social and cultural norms including gender relations, community engagement and behavior change to improve nutrition and health status of women and girls in the families.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5-8 years' of relevant work experience at any donor funded project of national or international organizations in the relevant field of gender. Experienced on donor reporting for gender/empowerment indicators
∎ Experience in financial inclusion, entrepreneurism, microfinance, or access to finance will added value
∎ Sound narrative and analytical writing skills on gender rights and capable to contributes into results through primary research and analysis;
∎ Ability to collect and analyze data/intelligence from research on gender at community level and comprehend the benefits of gender equality in economic terms for creating compelling business cases
∎ Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to formulate recommendations and advice for senior leadership that will inform development of relevant business lines for women
∎ Ability to convey complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience
∎ Ability to extract inspirational and captivating stories of equality and empowerment from the grass-roots highlighting dimensions of empowerment and inclusivity.
∎ Demonstrates keen awareness for sensitive and confidential information
∎ Practical knowledge on research methodology (both quantitative and qualitative) and research philosophies, principles and techniques, assess the needs of the research and plan accordingly;
∎ Experience on capacity building training facilitation;
∎ Knowledge and experience in liaison with GOB and NGO counterparts and development partner;
∎ Professional computer skills especially in MS office suite;
∎ Person Specifications & Attributes:
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills and versatility;
∎ Excellent communication skills and fluent vocabulary and writing skills in English and Bangla;
∎ A highly cooperative team player and ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks;

∎ Strong ability to communicate and function effectively in local/international/multicultural environment
∎ Willingness of having frequent filed visits to producers' clusters and business points and arranges filed visits for visitors;
