∎ iDE is an international NGO with over 40 years of experience in designing and delivering market-based anti-poverty programs in 11 countries. We are a world leader in making markets work for the poor as well as the longest-established market development specialist NGO in Bangladesh. iDE believes that markets can be a powerful force for improving smallholder prosperity by creating income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households. iDE Bangladesh currently has eight projects in Agricultural Markets, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Climate and Environment focusing on rural entrepreneurship and private sector engagement
∎ iDE Bangladesh is looking for a qualified Senior Officer - Skills and Entrepreneurship Development for the Clean Cooking Scale Up (CCSU) Bangladesh Project. The overall objective of this project is to promote the sales and utilization of 51,000 eCook Cookstoves in Bangladesh through an inclusive business model which will result in 100,000 tCO2-equivalent GHG emissions reduction per year and improves the livelihoods of 2,000 women and youth engaged in the Clean Energy Technology (CET) sector.
∎ This position holder will be responsible for all Capacity Development activities and Market Systems Development based interventions for the project. She/he will also be responsible to conduct the capacity building training to local entrepreneurs and sales agents, project and partner staff, along with development of context specific support for each of the training stakeholders based on assessments of the capacities and needs. The team member will support market systems development linked interventions pertaining to demand creation, supply chain strengthening, enterprise development, local strategy development of electric cooking suppliers as well as placement of individuals working in the clean energy sector. Additionally, the incumbent of this role will also work with project partners to accelerate electric cook stove sales, access to finance as per the prescribed approach.
∎ As per requirement, the position holder will assist the project in liaising with local level electric cook stove entrepreneurs, finding community sales agents, entrepreneur networks/associations, CSOs and government counterparts and play a significant role in executing all designed capacity development deliverables for the project. The position holder closely works with Market Development Officers (MDO) and Manage the Field Team.
