∎ Through seminars, workshops, career counselling, and direct employer engagement, the Career Hub bridges the gap between education and employment, empowering youth to succeed in an evolving job market.
∎ Job Purpose
∎ The Senior Officer - Career Counselling will lead and enhance the Career Hub’s counselling and engagement efforts, ensuring high-quality support for participants at all stages of their career development journey. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of both individual career needs and evolving market demands.
∎ Key Responsibilities
∎ ● Conduct advanced one to one Career Chat session.
∎ ● Oversee participants’ completion of their Career Hub profiles and Skill Assessment Tests, providing guidance as needed.
∎ ● Maintain and audit accurate session and participant records in the Career Hub platform and complementary systems.
∎ ● Generate regular reports on participant progress, engagement metrics, and assessment outcomes.
∎ ● Design and implement strategies to motivate participants to purchase service packages.
∎ ● Create and manage a qualified candidate pool for the Job Referral Tracking system, ensuring timely follow‑up.
∎ ● Resolve participant concerns swiftly, liaising with internal teams when required.
∎ ● Continuously doing market research on job market trends, employer demands and sector‑specific skills and maintaining a knowledge database.
∎ ● Lead and host career workshops, webinars, and related events to promote Career Hub services and participant engagement.
∎ ● Mentor and support Officer- Career Counselling , providing training, feedback, and performance coaching.
∎ ● Organize and facilitate employer meetups, job fairs, and networking events to understand industry needs and hiring trends.
∎ Safeguarding Responsibilities
∎ ● Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation, including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), to achieve the programme’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ ● Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ ● Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.
∎ Additional Requirements
∎ ● Strong understanding of labor market dynamics and employment trends across sectors.
∎ ● Contribute to the development of the Career Hub’s strategic roadmap, identifying growth opportunities and service improvements.
∎ ● Strong understanding of career development theories and strategies.
∎ ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
∎ ● Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
∎ ● Establish and monitor quality assurance benchmarks for all counselling activities and materials.
∎ Qualifications
∎ BBA/MBA or Masters in any subject. A Professional Degree in HRM is preferred.
∎ Experience
∎ ● Minimum of 3–4 years of progressive experience in career counselling, HR, lead recruitment or a similar role.
∎ ● experience in a leadership capacity is highly desirable.
