Job Summary:
The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) is responsible for providing advanced clinical care to patients, supervising junior doctors, and supporting hospital departments in delivering high-quality medical services. The SMO plays a key role in managing emergency and routine patient care, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring clinical protocols are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide timely and appropriate medical treatment to patients across assigned departments (ward, emergency, ICU, HDU and Others).
Monitor and manage critically ill patients, referring to consultants as needed.
Supervise, mentor, and guide Medical Officers in their duties.
Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, prescriptions, and reports.
Collaborate with nursing staff, diagnostic departments, and allied healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care.
Participate in medical audits, quality control, and hospital infection control activities.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, standard treatment guidelines, and ethical practices.
Attend medical emergencies and assist in procedures when required.
Conduct and participate in clinical meetings, training, and departmental reviews.
Maintain updated knowledge of current medical guidelines and treatment advancements.
