MD (Dermatology) / DDV (Diploma in Dermatology)

Fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatology

Training in Laser & Aesthetic Medicine
Research degrees or certifications

• At least 5 years

• Strong diagnostic and observation skills

• Excellent communication and patient-handling skills

• Attention to detail

• Knowledge of modern dermatological treatments

Dermatologist is a medical specialist who diagnoses, treats, and prevents diseases related to the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Dermatologists work in hospitals, private clinics, medical colleges, cosmetic centers, and research institutions. They may also be involved in cosmetic dermatology, laser treatments, and dermatological surgery.

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat skin diseases (eczema, acne, psoriasis, vitiligo, fungal infections, dermatitis, etc.)

• Manage hair and nail disorders

• Detect and treat skin cancers

• Perform minor dermatological surgeries (biopsy, cyst removal)

• Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies

• Monitor patient progress and provide follow-up care

Cosmetic & Aesthetic Responsibilities:

• Provide cosmetic treatments (chemical peeling, botox, fillers)

• Perform laser and aesthetic procedures

• Advise patients on skin care and anti-aging treatments

Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate medical records

• Follow medical ethics and patient confidentiality

• Stay updated with latest dermatology research and treatments

• Guide and educate patients on preventive skin care
