Responsibilities & Context:

The Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Pathology shall be responsible for delivering high-quality medical education to undergraduates, conducting academic and research activities, supervising students and junior faculty members, and contributing to the overall development of the Department of Pathology in accordance with BMDC, University, and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

  • Conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, and laboratory sessions in Pathology.

  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment tools.

  • Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.

  • Prepare and evaluate examination questions, answer scripts, and practical assessments.

  • Guide and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.

  • Maintain academic records and attendance as required.

Research Responsibilities

  • Conduct and promote research activities within the department.

  • Publish research articles in recognized journals.

  • Supervise student research projects and dissertations.

  • Participate in scientific seminars, workshops, conferences, and academic forums.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees.

  • Assist in accreditation and quality assurance activities.

  • Ensure compliance with BMDC, University, and institutional regulations.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and development initiatives.

Student Supervision

  • Provide academic guidance and counseling to students.

  • Supervise interns, residents, and junior faculty members.

  • Monitor student performance and provide constructive feedback.

  • Professional Development

  • Stay updated with advances in pathology and medical education.

  • Participate in faculty development programs and continuing medical education activities.

  • Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
