Responsibilities & Context:
Job Summary:
Technician / Asst. Technician-GHPD assists gastroenterologists and nursing staff in performing diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures while ensuring patient safety and proper maintenance of endoscopy equipment.
Responsibilities & Duties:-
Assist gastroenterologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Prepare patients before procedures and provide basic care afterward.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and accessories.
Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and safely store endoscopes and related instruments.
Monitor patients' vital signs during and after procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation.
Ensure infection prevention, sterilization, and hospital safety protocols are followed.
Maintain inventory of endoscopy instruments and consumable supplies.
Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs when needed.
Assist doctors and nurses with emergency and routine gastroenterology procedures.
Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure instructions under clinical supervision.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of the Gastroenterology Department or hospital management.
