Reports To: Hospital Director / Chief Medical Officer (CMO) / RMO

Job Summary:

The Matron will serve as the senior-most nursing professional responsible for overseeing all nursing operations, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, staff management, and adherence to hospital policies. This role requires leadership, strong clinical judgment, and administrative capabilities to supervise and develop nursing teams across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all nursing staff and support personnel across departments.
  • Ensure adherence to nursing protocols, infection control measures, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor patient care quality and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Coordinate with department heads, doctors, and hospital administration for optimal care delivery.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate the performance of nursing personnel.
  • Develop and enforce staff duty rosters, leave schedules, and emergency backups.
  • Manage nursing supplies, equipment usage, and inventory in coordination with the hospital store.
  • Address staff grievances, disciplinary issues, and maintain staff motivation.
  • Conduct internal audits of nursing units and report findings to hospital leadership.
  • Lead and prepare the nursing department for accreditation, inspection, and quality audits.
