Additional Requirements:
- Age 30 to 45 years
Advanced knowledge of knit structures (single jersey, rib, interlock, fleece, pique, etc.)
Fabric performance testing (GSM, shrinkage, spirality, color fastness)
Expertise in yarn types (cotton, viscose, polyester, blends, elastane)
Dyeing & finishing process control (reactive, disperse, enzyme wash, silicone, etc.)
Understanding of fabric defects analysis & root cause (e.g., barre, pilling, holes)
Pre-production (PP) meeting participation for fabric risk assessment
Responsibilities & Context:
Lead the fabric technical division and set departmental goals aligned with company objectives.
Develop and implement fabric quality standards, SOP’s, and process improvement.
Drive innovation in fabric development (new finishes, blends, performance fabrics).
Provide leadership to fabric, lab, and quality teams.
Ensure all knit fabrics meet buyer specifications and international quality standards.
Monitor and control key parameters: GSM, shrinkage, spirality, color fastness, pilling, etc.
Coordinate with knitting, dyeing, finishing, and cutting departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Ensure proper fabric planning, consumption control, and wastage reduction.
Analyze root causes of fabric defects and implement preventive measures.
Work with merchandising and costing teams for accurate fabric consumption.
Liaise with buyers/technical teams for fabric approvals and developments.
Ensure proper fabric relaxation, spreading, and cutting standards.
