Experience:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in counseling, MHPSS, or GBV programming.
Experience working with key populations, particularly female sex workers, in SRHR programs or community-based health interventions—along with experience in counseling coordination—will be highly preferred. The academic qualification requirement may be relaxed for highly experienced candidates with substantial field experience in key population programming, counseling coordination, and MHPSS interventions.
Proven experience in supervision, mentoring, and capacity building of field teams
Experience working with NGOs and donor-funded projects (UN agencies preferred).
Strengthening access to integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for brothel-based female sex workers (FSWs) in selected districts of Bangladesh.
Job Context:
Partners in Health and Development (PHD) is implementing a UNFPA-supported project aimed at strengthening access to integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) services for brothel-based female sex workers (FSWs) across nine selected districts of Bangladesh—namely Rajbari, Khulna, Jashore, Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Tangail, Faridpur, Bagerhat, and Patuakhali.
The project focuses on delivering comprehensive SRHR services alongside Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) through community-based service delivery platforms tailored to the needs of female sex workers.
The Senior Counselor is responsible for ensuring high-quality Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services across 9 centers covering 11 brothel settings. The position provides technical supervision, capacity building, referral coordination, and quality assurance for counseling and GBV case management services, ensuring survivor-centered and rights-based approaches.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide technical supervision to Medical Assistant/Midwifes cum Counselors, Peer Educator cum GBV Case Management Workers.
Ensure quality individual and group counseling services across all project sites.
Oversee psychosocial support and immediate response for GBV survivors.
Ensure ethical standards, confidentiality, and proper documentation of counseling services.
Provide on-the-job mentoring and coaching to Medical Assistant/Midwifes cum Counselors, Peer Educator cum GBV Case Management Workers.
Support training of Medical Assistant/Midwifes cum Counselors, Peer Educator cum GBV Case Management Workers and government service providers on MHPSS, GBV response, and psychosocial care.
Strengthen referral pathways for health, legal, and psychosocial services.
Ensure timely referral and follow-up of GBV survivors.
Coordinate with government health facilities, legal aid providers, and community-based service actors.
Prepare supervision reports and quality assurance feedback reports.
Document case studies, best practices, and lessons learned.
Provide inputs for project reports, and donor reporting.
