The Sector Specialist, Aquaculture will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing sustainable aquaculture interventions under the Resilience and HCMP programme. The role focuses on improving fish pond productivity, food security, and livelihood outcomes by providing technical support, training project staffs, analyzing cost benefit of the fish pond, managing field operation, and building govt. stakeholder networks in the project. The position also contributes to innovative practices such as fish nurseries, dry fish production, climate-adaptive aquaculture, aquaponic and hydroponic farming, and market linkages at camp level.
Technical Leadership and Field Supervision
Supervise and provide regular technical guidance to Project Officers through field visits and follow-up to ensure quality implementation of aquaculture activities.
Support establishment and management of fish nurseries, fish ponds, aquaponic and hydroponic systems, and pond-dyke vegetable production.
Ensure appropriate pond selection, beneficiary selection, and application of best aquaculture practices.
Ensure proper timing of fingerling release, effective feed management, harvesting, and fish distribution in the presence of CiC.
Planning, Budgeting, and Cost Effectiveness
Prepare and update training plans, cash distribution plans, and procurement plans for smooth project implementation.
Track budget utilization and ensure timely delivery of pond-related inputs to beneficiaries.
Prepare and monitor cost–benefit analysis of fish pond aquaculture interventions.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
Coordinate with CiC, CMA, and relevant government stakeholders to support implementation and ensure monthly camp-based reporting.
Maintain close coordination with other HCMP sectors to ensure synergy and maximize project results.
Facilitate donor visits, represent the project in stakeholder coordination meetings, and support advocacy and networking efforts.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation
Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports, observation reports, and expenditure reports.
Support data collection and documentation for learning, reporting, and accountability purposes.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Manager in line with project needs.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
