∎ The anticipated level of effort is 110 days. The consultant is expected to complete all tasks within a 6-8 month period, with key milestones as follows:
∎ Week 1-4: Research plan and strategy development.
∎ Month 1-2: Development of research protocols and data collection tools and submission to Abt IRB
∎ Month 3-4: Data collection and preliminary analysis.
∎ Month 5-6: Final research analysis and report/presentation preparations
∎ Month 7-8: Presentation and knowledge-sharing sessions.
∎ The consultant will report to the MEL Director, providing weekly updates on progress, challenges, and next steps. The consultant will also be supported by Katie Tripp, the home office MEL specialist.
∎ Proven experience in managing research and learning activities in a similar field. (Nutrition/ WASH/ Women’s empowerment)
∎ Extensive expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
∎ Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
∎ Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
∎ Timeline:

∎ Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all activities.
∎ Analyze collected data to identify trends, insights, and gaps.
∎ Prepare detailed reports and presentations of findings.
∎ Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to support staff in understanding and adopting research insights for activity implementation
∎ 4. Project Management & Reporting
∎ Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
∎ Ensure all deliverables are met on time and within budget.
∎ Incorporate feedback from team members and stakeholders into continuous improvement efforts.
∎ Adjust research methodologies and learning approaches as needed based on evaluation outcomes.

∎ Introduction
∎ Abt Global LLC seeks a qualified Research Consultant for Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity (BNA). The place of work for this consultancy is Dhaka and outside Dhaka for field visit as required.
∎ Background
∎ The goal of the Activity is to contribute to improvements in the nutrition outcomes for Feed the Future Zone of Influence (ZoI) households, especially children under five, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescent girls and boys by (1) increasing consumption of nutritious, diverse, and safe diets by households; (2) increasing social and economic empowerment of adolescents and women; and (3) improving adoption of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. The Activity implements nutrition-sensitive interventions that complement and reinforce ongoing nutrition-specific activities and applies a combination of market systems development (MSD) and social behavior change (SBC) approaches to achieve its goal.
∎ BNA project is planning for a robust research agenda in year 7 and requires additional support to complete planned research activities. The consultant will lead and manage priority research activities to support BNA’s goals, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations. This role involves designing, coordinating, and executing research activities while facilitating knowledge-sharing with the team, USAID and other key stakeholders.
