Job Context:
∎ BADAS-Centre for Health Research and Implementation (BADAS-CHRI) is a joint collaboration between the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS) and Institute for Global Health (IGH) University College London, which has been working since 2002 on diverse health issues including non-communicable diseases. BADAS-CHRI is looking for a qualified candidate for the position of `Research Assistant` for its "Developing and evaluating an adapted behavioural activation intervention for people with depression and diabetes in South Asia (DiaDeM)" project.
∎ Duration: 12 months, possibility of extension.
∎ Job Location: Sylhet. Travel and office work at the Dhaka head office may be required as per need of the program.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Recruitment of study participants at Sylhet Diabetic Association Hospital by liaising with doctors and hospital management.
∎ Data collection both on paper and Qualtrics software as per training and good clinical practices guidelines.
∎ Establishing network and communication with study participants receiving the intervention, their families and health care staff, government and non- government stakeholders in both Sylhet and Dhaka
∎ Maintaining and monitoring profile of study participant and stakeholders
∎ All required support to the Research Coordinator and the quantitative and qualitative teams
∎ Organizing community panel meetings and stakeholder workshops
∎ Regular submission of activity reports to Dhaka office
∎ Development of leaflets, booklets and research materials relevant to the study
∎ Maintain regular correspondence with the field Staff, members of the project team in Dhaka office
∎ Conduct Anthropometric measurements of study participants
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 2-3 years of experience in public health research based activities specially on data collection and management and other areas mentioned above under responsibilities.
∎ Good written and spoken English
∎ Excellent communication skills
∎ Ability to build rapport with the team and in a community setting
∎ Good computer skills (MS Word/ Excel)
∎ Ability to develop research materials such as leaflets, booklets etc.
Salary: Tk. 35000 (Monthly)
