Education:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Work, Labour Studies, or any relevant discipline from a recognized university.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, women’s empowerment, labour rights, gender equality, GBV prevention, community development, advocacy, or related fields.

• Age preferably not exceeding 45 years

• Experience working with Domestic Workers, Beauty Service Workers, women workers, or marginalized groups will be preferred.

• Strong communication, facilitation, coordination, negotiation, report writing, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and good command of Bangla and English.

• Sound understanding of women’s rights, labour rights, gender equality, GBV prevention, economic justice, and safeguarding.

• Ability to undertake regular field visits and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities & Context:

Karmojibi Nari (KN) is a women-led national organization committed to promoting the rights, dignity, leadership, and socio-economic empowerment of women workers in Bangladesh.

Karmojibi Nari (KN) is going to implement the project “Advancing Rights, Economic Justice, and GBV Prevention for Women in Domestic and Beauty Service Work”, supported by Women’s Fund Asia, in urban Dhaka.

The project aims to strengthen the collective voice, rights, economic justice, dignity, and working conditions of women Domestic Workers (DW) and Beauty Service Workers (BSW). It will also contribute to the prevention of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and challenge discriminatory social norms affecting women workers.

The project will directly engage women workers and indirectly reach approximately community members through awareness, leadership development, organizing, couple dialogues, community campaigns, solidarity-building, and advocacy initiatives.

To support the implementation of this initiative from August 2026 to January 2028, KN invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Project Coordinator (PC).

Job Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will lead the overall implementation, coordination, supervision, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of project activities. S/he will work closely with women workers, project staff, communities, partners, government and non-government stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate project activities in line with approved work plans, objectives, targets, donor requirements, and organizational policies.

• Mobilize Domestic Workers and Beauty Service Workers and facilitate awareness, leadership, capacity-building, organizing, and collective action initiatives.

• Facilitate activities on labour rights, economic justice, workplace dignity, social protection, gender equality, and GBV prevention, including couple dialogues and community campaigns.

• Coordinate advocacy, stakeholder engagement, networking, and referral linkages with relevant government, NGO, civil society, employer, and service provider organizations.

• Develop and disseminate IEC materials and support awareness and advocacy initiatives promoting the rights, dignity, safety, and recognition of women workers.

• Conduct regular field visits, monitor project progress, maintain project data and documentation, and prepare reports, case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.

• Support activity planning, logistics, procurement, financial documentation, and other administrative requirements of the project.

• Ensure compliance with organizational, donor, financial, administrative, and safeguarding policies.

• Provide guidance to project team members and perform any other duties assigned by management.

Job Location - Dhaka, Bangladesh, with frequent travel to project intervention areas as required.
