Education:

• Bachelor/Honors

• Bachelor in Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy / Speech and Language Therapy.

• Age At most 45 years

• Minimum 1 year of professional work experience in relevant sectors (Experience in National/ International NGO is an added advantage but not mandatory)

• Familiarity with the concepts of comprehensive functional rehabilitation is required.

• Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.

• Reading and writing skills in English and Bangla, including the ability to compose, edit, analyze and report using complex information.

• Have adaptability, teamwork, relationship building, and change management skills.

• Basic IT skills, basic knowledge of MS Excel.

• Have outstanding skills and expertise in communicating by email and the internet.

• Identify areas for professional development and share with the project manager to enable an action plan to improve professional skills.

• Engage in self-directed learning to grow skills and competencies.

• Seek feedback and support as necessary to improve skills and achieve objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Physiotherapy/ Occupational Therapy/ Speech and Language Therapy screening and assessment in host community/ refugee camp/ hospital/ home-based setting.
• Prepare the treatment plan and follow-up therapy services.
• Provide Therapeutic interventions as required.
• Selection of appropriate assistive device for clients as required·
• Home Modification for better accessibility whenever required.
• Set priorities for beneficiaries as per technical standard/ SOP.
• Provide caregivers training on continuing home exercise and related therapeutic activities.
• Supervise the activities of the therapy Assistants and volunteers.
• Refer the clients to appropriate internal and external facilities and services.
• Attending relevant technical/ stakeholder meeting at sector level as necessary.
• Support to produce reports (e.g., case studies, lesson learned reports, client's progress report).
• Maintain relevant register book and other documentation related to the field of expertise as required.
• Raising PR for items necessary for Rehab services in coordination with team manager and accounts.
• Prepare appropriate periodic plan in coordination with the Team Manager with specific deliverables and targets.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

• Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
• Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

Job Context:

• The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
• CDD is a prominent organization in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.
• The Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asian version of the Noble prize) has been awarded to its former Executive Director in 2010. In 2018, CDD was recognized by the Government of Bangladesh as one of the best organizations working on disability and development issues.
• CDD is now accepting application for the position of ‘Rehabilitation Officer – PT/OT/SLT’ under upcoming projects of CDD. The selected candidate will initially be hired for a three-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of this period, his/her employment contract will be renewed on an annual basis.
