Requirements: Skills Required: Additional Requirements: - Experience in advocacy field is highly preferred;
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience of working with I/NGOs in development program
- Experience of working with marginalized communities, including people with disabilities, representatives of local government, and local administration,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in remote areas with a self-driven approach under minimum supervision.
- Fair knowledge of disaster management and emergency response.
- Excellent level of verbal and writing communication skills in English and Bangla Language,
- Computer skills (MS Word-Bangla and English, Excel, Internet Operations, etc.)
- Knowledge in Environmental Screening, Accessibility will add extra value but is not mandatory.
- Deep professional and technical understanding of health and rehabilitation services for diversified types of disabilities.
- Proficient and experienced in planning, monitoring, and reporting of disability-based healthcare and rehabilitation support.
- Advanced IT skills, Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- Experienced in tracking rehabilitation-based progress.
- Previous working experience in DRR projects will be an added advantage.
- Excellent report writing skills in Bangla and English.
- Knowledge on Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) / CBID.
- Good understanding about disability inclusive development.
- Excellent command of the most common methodologies to identify, assess, and monitor access and mobility relevant to disability and WASH services,
Responsibilities & Context: Job Responsibilities:
- Visit households to identify and assess persons with disabilities in the target community and provide necessary therapy interventions.
- Prepare treatment plans for follow-up physiotherapy services.
- Provide physiotherapy sessions at the homes of project participants.
- Support home modifications to make them more accessible for persons with disabilities.
- Refer project participants to other professionals or agencies for medical and rehabilitation services when needed.
- Select suitable assistive devices for project participants.
- Keep proper records of participants’ files and service delivery information.
- Take care of therapy equipment.
- Support the project team in carrying out activities at the project location.
- Check the accessibility of WASH, flood shelters, and prepare plans for necessary construction, improvements, and advocacy.
- Help develop inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) materials and disability-inclusive awareness resources for the community.
- Supervise the work of Rehab Assistants, Field Facilitators, and Community Interns.
- Assist the location coordinator in preparing PIP, monthly, and quarterly action plans, as well as reports.
- Build and maintain good relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with organizations working in the Health and WaSH sectors to share resources and strengthen activities.
- Ensure proper documentation and prepare relevant reports.
- Conduct awareness sessions on health and disability at the community level.
- Support community engagement officers in monthly and quarterly SHG meetings, day observations, and other events by facilitating discussions on health-related issues.
- Organize quarterly and need-based advocacy meetings with stakeholders, including government offices, CSOs, and NGOs.
- Design and carry out advocacy campaigns in close coordination with the location coordinator and community engagement officers to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in services.
- Maintain regular communication and networking with health service providers to link people with disabilities to appropriate services.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants.
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project.
- Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.
