Education:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by BMDC.
- Postgraduate training/qualification in Pediatrics (DCH/MD/MS/FCPS or equivalent)preferred.

- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in pediatric or neonatal units.
- Current registration and valid medical practicing license.
Responsibilities & Context:
1. Clinical Care
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients admitted under pediatric care.
- Perform ward rounds with the consultant and independently when required.
- Monitor and review patients’ progress, including necessary investigations and
- interventions.
- Respond promptly to pediatric emergencies and acute medical situations.
2. Outpatient and Emergency Duties
- Attend pediatric outpatient clinics and emergency calls.
- Assist consultants in managing outpatient and admitted cases.
3. Procedures
- Perform common pediatric procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, venipuncture, IV
- cannulation, nasogastric tube insertion, etc.).
- Ensure all procedures are performed safely and documented properly.
4. Communication
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Counsel parents on diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive child health measures.
5. Documentation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, discharge
- summaries, and treatment plans.
- Ensure documentation complies with hospital and legal standards.
6. Education and Training
- Participate in academic activities, ward teaching, and departmental meetings.
- Engage in continuous professional development and attend relevant workshops and seminars.
7. Audit and Research
- Participate in departmental audits and quality improvement projects.
- Assist in clinical research as guided by the consultant.
8. Administrative Responsibilities
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control guidelines, and safety standards.
