Education:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery(MBBS)

• MBBS with post-graduation in Ophthalmology (DO, DCO, MS, FCPS).

• Valid registration with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).

• Long-term or short-term Fellowship in any subspecialized fields like: Vitreoretinal surgery, Pediatric ophthalmology, Cornea, Glaucoma etc.

• Age At least 25 years

Experience Requirements

• The applicants should have experience in Eye Hospital/Clinic.

• Freshers are also encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements

• Providing support in training, mentoring and capacity-building activities.

• Capable of handling patients load with adaptability.

• Strong clinical and communication skills.

Junior Consultant/Consultant (Ophthalmology)

Job Context

Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) is a nationally recognized non-governmental development organization in Bangladesh that has been working since 1993 to improve the socio-economic conditions of nearly 5 million families. Alongside its microfinance programs, GUK implements a wide range of development initiatives in education, healthcare, agriculture, fisheries, livestock, employment generation, entrepreneurship development, women’s empowerment and climate change resilience. As for being a socially responsible organization, it also operates successful social enterprises, including ‘G-Galore’ and ‘G-Fashion’ and has established skill development and service institutions such as ‘GUK Shishu Bikash Kendra (non-formal primary education)’ and the ‘GUK Institute of Technology (GIT)’ to support sustainable community development.

As a part of these ongoing initiatives, GUK has established three modern and well-equipped eye hospitals in Dhaka, Bogura and Dinajpur to provide quality eye care services to the poor, underprivileged and low-income patients of these particular areas. In continuation of its commitment to quality eye care services, GUK has undertaken an initiative to recruit some qualified doctors to ensure the effective and efficient operation of its eye hospitals.

GUK is looking for Junior Consultant/ Consultant for the Eye Hospital.

Employment Status: Contractual/ Fulltime.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage pre-operative and post-operative patients i.e. (OPD and IPD).

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ophthalmic conditions.

• Provide medical and surgical treatment for eye diseases and disorders.

• Perform eye surgeries (SICS, PHACO etc.)

• Must comply with the policies and guidelines provided by the hospital management.

• Ensure quality patient care and adherence to clinical protocols.

Salary

• Negotiable

• Attractive salary package.

• For experienced candidates salary will be negotiated based on their experience in PHACO Surgery.
