  • Experience Requirement: Minimum 5 years of working experience with NGOs or international development organizations and at least 3 years’ experience in the Urban WASH project/ climate adaptation project or programme is mandatory. Field experience in working with municipalities, city corporations and private sector actors.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage large scale and complex projects.

  • Current national and global development trends related to climate adaptation and urban development.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, organization and negotiation skills.

About the Project:

The BRAC Urban Development Programme has initiated a project titled “Strengthening Urban Resilience Services for Vulnerable Communities in Seven Climate-Affected Cities.” The project aims to ensure that climate-vulnerable communities, particularly women and other intersectional groups gain improved access to resilient infrastructure and develop the capacity to ensure proper operation and maintenance (O&M). This initiative seeks to reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related hazards such as flooding, heatwaves, and waterlogging. The project will start from June 01, 2026. The duration of this project will be one year.

Position: Regional Manager; Urban Development Programme (Project Staff)

Job Purpose: Work as the field operation unit, coordinating all the UDP interventions in the regional level; guide and supervise field team; ensure strong communication exchange between the field level and HO; maintain strong liaison and networking with the concerned BRAC programmes, NGO’s and government agencies

Job Location : Anywhere in Bangladesh (UDP field office)

Job Description:

• Ensure all programmatic targets like community mobilization, CAP implementation, climate resilient WASH interventions like community toilet, school sanitation block, water facilities, drainage network, footpath, internal walkways.

• Select and design the most appropriate form of climate adaptive water and sanitation system (to include excreta disposal, vector control, solid waste disposal, drainage, safe drinking water) taking into full account the local conditions, resources, customs and cultural norms.

• Ensure the consideration of cross cutting areas such as gender, disability inclusion, DRR and sustainability within all WASH interventions, also considering the importance of integration with other sectors such as public health.

• Network and liaison with Administrator/ Mayor, ward councilor’s, city corporation/ municipality authority for ensuring coordinated service delivery.

• Organize and manage regular team meetings with field staff, informal catch-up meetings and external meetings as necessary and ensure meeting notes and action points are distributed to deadline.

• Guide and supervise field team to ensure all regional level targets are met according to annual plan. Monitor progress of the project and ensure smooth field delivery of the activities.

• Identify, plan and organize capacity development training/workshops of the field staff.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
