Education:
Post-Graduation from any reputed Public/ Private University or College with minimum Second Class/division in all examinations. No 3rd division/ class is allowed.
Education: Post-graduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Experience: 10–15+ years of experience in credit risk or credit management within Banks or NBFIs, with strong exposure to SME/Small Enterprise lending and regional oversight.
Credit Expertise: Deep understanding of SME credit underwriting, delegated authority frameworks, portfolio risk management, and credit governance.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead senior credit professionals and influence stakeholders while maintaining strong risk discipline.
Judgment & Decision-Making: Ability to take sound credit decisions within delegated authority and provide balanced risk recommendations on escalated cases.
Behavioral Skills: Strong communication, escalation judgment, stakeholder management, and ability to balance risk control with business growth.
Credit Governance, Approval & Escalation
Oversee all credit appraisal, approval, and monitoring activities across the region to ensure compliance with credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct client meetings and on-site pre and post visits to gather qualitative insights and validate quantitative and operational information based on delegation matrix.
Exercise delegated credit approval authority within assigned limits in line with internal approval matrices and risk appetite.
Review, challenge, and approve credit proposals escalated by Manager – Credit within delegated authority.
Recommend credit proposals exceeding delegated authority to the Head of Small Enterprise Credit or appropriate Credit Committees with clear risk views and mitigants.
Ensure consistent application of underwriting standards and risk assessment methodologies across the region.
Portfolio Risk Management & Oversight
Monitor regional portfolio performance, asset quality trends, concentration risks, and early warning indicators.
Ensure effective oversight of restructurings, renewals, and policy exceptions within the region.
Leadership & Credit Culture
Provide leadership and direction to Manager – Credit and indirectly to Credit Analysts/Risk Managers.
Foster a strong risk culture emphasizing independence, accountability, and disciplined credit decision-making.
Support talent development, succession planning, and capability building across the regional credit team.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership
Act as the regional credit risk partner to business leadership while maintaining independence of credit judgment.
Support strategic initiatives by providing regional credit insights and risk perspectives to senior management.
Reporting, Escalation & Governance
Escalate material credit risks, policy breaches, and portfolio concerns to the Head of Small Enterprise Credit in a timely manner.
Review and validate regional MIS, portfolio dashboards, and credit risk reports.
Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and governance reviews related to regional credit activities.
Process Improvement & Framework Enhancement
Ensure consistent implementation of credit processes, tools, and frameworks across the region.
Recommend enhancements to credit policies, approval matrices, and monitoring practices based on regional experience and risk trends.
Ensure timely communication and implementation of policy or regulatory changes.
