Job Responsibilities:
∎ The quality control officer is responsible for maintaining overall fresh produces quality Control functions/activities of the project as per the consumers requirements in the market, He/She will oversee the quality parameter of the products like size, grade, color, physical appearance, food safety aspect and commercial requirements as per the company demand.
∎ He closely will work with farmers, collection centers entrepreneurs, central distribution centers and retail level to orient relevant peoples engage in the collection, handling packaging, merchandizing of the products to ensure product quality and safety issues.
∎ He will develop necessary guideline, product specification booklet, checklist and relevant quality communication materials for the project and company. o.
∎ S/he is also responsible for providing hand to hand on job training on product quality, specification and traceability system.
∎ Develop overall quality guideline, process, procedures for the project to ensure safe products for the consumers
∎ Develop necessary specification booklet, training materials on product quality, SOP, checklist for CC and central distribution centers
∎ Closely work with field team, lead farmers, entrepreneur's and Providing hand to hand on job training on product quality, specification and traceability system
∎ Review and Identify the different food safety concern related with fresh vegetables and taking necessary measures to ensure safe products for the company and consumers.
∎ Identify the good practices for crop protection, harvesting, post-harvest management, packaging, handling and transportation and providing orientation to follow the good practices.
∎ Conducting farmers training on product quality and food safety. Providing necessary orientation at retail level for product merchandizing, storage and temperature controlling to ensure product freshness
∎ In coordination with PQW of DAE implementing GAP at production level and taking necessary steps for consumers orientation at retail level to differentiate GAP certified products.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience on any retail shop as a fresh produce quality supervisor or working experience on commercial farming as a quality supervisor or any working experience at any certification body will be preference
∎ Related expertise on relationship development, coordination and liaison;
∎ Experience in engaging private sectors, government and NGO stakeholders in one forum to establish sustainability agenda;
∎ Ability to assess quality measures for Agro-product .
∎ Professional computer skills (MS office suite);
∎ A highly cooperative team player and ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks is desirable;
∎ Fosters an inclusive workplace where diversity and individual differences are valued and leveraged to achieve the vision and mission of the organization;
∎ Strong ability to communicate and function effectively in local/international/multicultural environment;
∎ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
