- Minimum 7–10 years of QC welding experience in steel tanks, pressure vessels, and heavy steel fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, SAW).
- Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or equivalent are mandatory.
- Experience with QA/QC systems, ITPs, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with ASME, API, and AWS codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to manage teams.
Responsibilities & Context:
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled QC Welding Engineer to join our team for projects involving steel tanks, pressure vessels, and heavy steel structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and supervising all welding activities, ensuring compliance with codes, client specifications, and international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Qualification Tests (WQT).
- Supervise and monitor welding operations during fabrication and erection of steel tanks and vessels.
- Ensure compliance with international codes such as ASME Section VIII, API 650/653, AWS D1.1, and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections for welding joints, consumables, and parameters to maintain quality standards.
- Coordinate with NDT inspectors and verify test results (RT, UT, MT, PT) for welded joints.
- Review material certificates and ensure proper traceability of welding consumables.
- Prepare QC documentation, inspection reports, and final dossiers for client submission.
- Train, mentor, and guide welders and QC staff to improve welding quality performance.
