- Minimum 5–7 years of QC inspection/supervision experience in steel tanks, pressure vessels, and heavy steel fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, NDT techniques, and mechanical inspection.
- Familiarity with standards such as ASME Sec VIII, API 650/653, AWS D1. 1.
- Certifications such as AWS CWI, CSWIP, API 653, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, codes, and technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
Responsibilities & Context:
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced QC Mechanical Inspector/Supervisor to join our team for projects involving steel tanks, vessels, and heavy steel structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising inspection activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international codes, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabrication, assembly, welding, and erection of steel tanks, vessels, and related components.
- Supervise and monitor site QC activities in accordance with the approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
- Ensure compliance with international standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and ISO.
- Review material certificates, welding procedures, WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications.
- Witness and verify NDT, hydro tests, pneumatic tests, and other mechanical integrity checks.
- Ensure coating, painting, and surface preparation activities are carried out per specifications.
- Coordinate with project managers, QA/QC team, contractors, and client representatives.
- Prepare and maintain QC documentation, inspection reports, and final dossiers.
