Job Responsibilities:
∎ Carrying out evaluation of mental health needs of patients and establishing a diagnosis and a plan of treatment. Informing the patient and his/her relatives about the possible consequences of the illness and the drug treatment to follow and referring patients to other health professionals whenever necessary, in order to provide the most appropriate treatment and improve the patient's condition;
∎ Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to the medical team so that they receive the necessary treatment;
∎ Providing psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group) to patients according to MSF protocols in order to improve their mental health conditions;
∎ Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities. Working in close collaboration with translators in order to ensure appropriate terminology and behavior during sessions;
∎ Collecting statistical and monitoring data about mental health activities;
∎ Informing the supervisor and the medical team about any issues or problems that may arise related to patients’ treatment in order to provide the best possible solution from a medical perspective;
∎ Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential;
∎ Provide psychosocial support online/via phone or face to face on request to the national staff and volunteers across MSF OCA projects in Bangladesh;
∎ Carry out occasional field visits to promote the activities and conduct group workshops with the staff members aimed at increasing awareness around mental health issues, specifically stress and burnout;
∎ Carry out field visits in case of critical incident under the responsibility of the Psychosocial Unit (OCA);
∎ Give recommendations to the Psychosocial Unit (OCA/SEEAP) and Deputy MedCo about the psychological support provided to the staff after field visits;
∎ Engage in regular clinical supervision provided by the Psychosocial Unit (OCA/SEEAP);
∎ Prepares monthly statistics to Deputy MedCo/SEEAP PSU/OCA PSU regarding number of sessions provided and main causes of presentations;
∎ Collaborate with the mental health Activity manager as well as the hospital director and medical team leaders at project level to meet the mental health needs of staff;
∎ Collaborate with and work closely (as an integral part of) with OCA Staff Health Unit at Ukhiya Office to meet mental health needs of staff;
∎ Identify and flag high risk cases who require psychiatric interventions to the line manager;
∎ Desirable:
∎ Good awareness around the issues of trauma, domestic violence, stress and burnout;
∎ Solution oriented approach/treatment approach;
∎ Strong risk assessment skills;
∎ Experience in working with displaced and marginalised populations;
∎ Good experience in stress management, conflict management and anger management;
∎ Diplomatic, good communication skills, collaborative approach;
∎ Organised, flexible and autonomous;
∎ Time Management: Proactive, reactive, anticipate and manage priorities;
∎ Flexibility to carry out other task that may be requested by the Deputy MedCo.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries
∎ English and Bangla language essential; Chittagonian desirable
∎ Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Salary:
∎ Salary according to level seven (7) of the internal MSF salary grid, which is BDT 72,352- BDT 86,822 gross.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 12 months’ contract with possibility of extension .
∎ 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on MSF Health Care Policy.
∎ No relocation allowance shall be provided
