∎ Background
∎ Samaj Kallayan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) envisions a peaceful, prosperous and poverty-free society that ensures everyone`s basic needs and rights. SKUS has since the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx worked in Cox`s Bazar district with children and adolescents. SKUS works to provide access to learning opportunities in a safe and protective environment, offer quality teaching/learning and increase refugee/host community participation and ensure protection and established rights. Based on children`s and adolescents` rights, SKUS has established quality learning and protection centres with support from different international donors. SKUS has been implementing child protection, child rights and women empowerment project since January 2018 at Rohingya Camp and host community in Ukhia Upazila under Cox`s Bazar District with the support of KNH Germany. SKUS is looking for suitable candidates for the immediate appointment of Psychologist for the project as mentioned above, supported by KNH Germany.
∎ Purpose of the job
∎ Under the guidance of the PSS Coordinator, the Psychologist manages the field and project staff and assumes overall responsibility for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SKUS`s PSS interventions within the targeted area.
∎ SKUS working with the distress beneficiaries struggling with psychosocial issues need to provide specialised mental health and psychosocial support for refugees, as psychological distress continues to be a salient concern for all refugees, including children and other groups with special needs, many of whom experienced or witnessed violence in Myanmar. He/she also support/guide, mentor other team members on related issues. The Psychologist acts as technical person identifies diagnosis and undertake necessary initiative for further action.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assess, diagnose, and treat patients/beneficiaries for behavioral and psychological issues
∎ Establish a rapport with patients/beneficiaries to assist them in understanding and accepting intervention recommendations
∎ Prescribe, implement intervention and referral consistent with a patient's/beneficiaries' diagnosis and relevant standards of care
∎ Consult with PSS coordinator to develop diagnoses and intervention plans in accordance with the needs of their patients/beneficiaries
∎ Participate in the development of counseling policies and procedures
∎ Manages the field and project staff (PSS counselor, protection facilitator, facilitators)
∎ Planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SKUS's PSS interventions within the targeted area.
∎ Others as required by PSS coordinator, project coordinator and the organizational management
∎ Perform all duties in a manner consistent with the American Psychological Association's (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct of SKUS.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 23 to 40 years

∎ Experience
∎ At least 3 years of work experience in the field of counselling for children, youth and Adults
∎ Demonstrated experience providing psychological services to children and Gender Based Violence (GBV) survivor in camp context
∎ Proven experience of project implementation in the Rohingya camp
∎ Programmatic and operational experiences in leading multiple stakeholders in a refugee context.
∎ Experiences for working with special need children like fear trauma, deviated behavioral issues, learning disabilities, intellectual and physical disabilities, executive difficulties, and other mental health problems will add value

∎ Knowledge
∎ In-depth knowledge of child rights, child protection and GBV.
∎ Knowledge of the special need children identification and referral agencies.
∎
∎ Skills
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Bangla and English.
∎ Knowledge of local language (Chattagram and Cox's Bazar).
∎ Intermediate knowledge of computer software, particularly on MS Excel, MS Word (both Bangla & English).
∎ Capacity to innovate and think creatively.
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills.

∎ The Psychologist is based at SKUS's project office located at Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar.
∎ She/he will spend approximately 70% of his/her time in the field.
∎ She/he may have contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals.
Salary:
∎ Tk. 55000 - 76000 (Monthly)
∎ Negotiable based on qualification and experience
