As part of this mission, we are seeking a dynamic individual for an anticipated project to play the role of the Psychologist to ensure the psychosocial and mental well-being of the beneficiaries of a new project funded by the LEGO Foundation, activities have been initiated to promote the mental health and age-appropriate development of children aged 0 to 3 years among the local population of Cox's Bazar district and the displaced population from Myanmar.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct screening through specific tools to ensure the provision of mental health services to pregnant women and parents of children aged 0-3 years.

  • Conducting psychological assessments and personal counseling support to beneficiaries through regular home visits.

  • Support capacity building of para-counselors and other frontline workers by providing relevant training as per sector and organizational standards.

  • Design and develop training modules, content, on play-based and mental health topics, tailored to the needs of frontline staff, caregivers, and community members

  • Provide regular supervision, mentoring, and technical guidance to Para-Counsellors to ensure quality, ethical, and effective psychosocial service delivery.

  • Identifying and providing services to parents' mental health problems through regular field visits.

  • Strong understanding of child psychology, developmental milestones, and trauma.

  • Provide psychological first Aid services in an emergency situation

  • Prepare, compile, & submit weekly and monthly reporting.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSILITIES:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
