In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. Job Responsibilities:
∎ POSITION PROFILE
∎ OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world's leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC are preparing to launch an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2019, DRC will be implementing aid projects in support of both the refugee and host communities affected by the influx. As a key part of this, DRC opened up a main office in Cox's Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.
∎ The GBV Team Leader's primary function is to ensure quality implementation of the GBV thematic area in synergy with the larger protection and Gender-based violence components which constitute the overall DRC programme in Cox's Bazar. He/She is responsible to oversee a team of GBV protection officers and assistants at the area level. The GBV Team Leader is also responsible for representing DRC in any relevant field based thematic meetings with stakeholders and otherwise as needed. In addition, He/She will be responsible for complying with donors and internal DRC reporting and accountability policy and procedures. He/she is also tasked with providing technical assistance and guidance to mainstream protection across all the community based mechanisms at the local level.
∎ MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
∎ PROJECT MANAGEMENT
∎ Under the supervision of the GBV manager, contribute to the writing of concept papers and proposal development on the GBV thematic areas of protection. Also identify GBV gaps and vulnerabilities with a view to generating ideas for future projects with strong impact for the beneficiaries.
∎ Support the protection assessment and ongoing risk analysis in order to design adequate responses.
∎ Under the supervision of the Gender-based violence Manager, ensure that all the GBV protection approaches and tools are developed in synergy with the overall DRC national based protection initiatives.
∎ Make sure that all the protection projects adhere to the highest GBV standards and principles as well as DRC guidelines and accountability standards.
∎ Contribute to the development of advocacy points based on assessment of situation and risks related to gender.
∎ In collaboration with the Gender-based violence Manager proactively contribute to quality and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
∎ Oversee the daily quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of GBV- related projects and interventions
∎ Provide ongoing support to case managers including supervision, shadowing, case file audits, and consultation
∎ Assist in organizing and delivering protection trainings and promoting the laws related to the rights of women, men, boys, girls, and gender and sexual minorities.
∎ Support innovative problem solving and strategy development to address complex issues relating to the safety and wellbeing of people affected by gender-based violence and discrimination.
∎ Work closely with the other programme components to maximize programme output and impact.
∎ In collaboration with the other GBV Team Leaders proactively contribute to quality and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
∎ CAPACITY BUILDING
∎ Provision of technical support to staff members in linking DRC Cox's GBV prevention and response to relevant protection standards, best practices and policy documents ensuring a rights-based approach programme framework.
∎ Provide technical leadership to the Gender-based violence Case Workers in the case management work. Ensure all cases are up to date (filing system and GBVIMS) and progressing well and in line with interagency and DRC standard tools.
∎ Develop staff performance measurement and targets and appraise them based on the set targets.
∎ Provision of technical support to staff members in linking DRC Gender-based violence issues that are observed in the field, to relevant protection standards, best practices and policy documents ensuring a rights-based approach programme framework.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
∎ To be successful in this role we expect the following: (Required)
∎ Minimum of three years' experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and service provision experience, and/or advocacy programs.
∎ Experience in protection interventions
∎ Experience of working with UN or Non-Governmental organizations or local authorities.
∎ Good communication skills and ability to conduct training and awareness
∎ Computer skills (Microsoft, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
∎ Good organizational and management skills.
∎ Fluency in Bangla & English mandatory
∎ Chittagonian/Rohingya dialect highly preferred

Salary:
∎ Tk. 83935 (Monthly)
∎ Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council`s Terms of Employment for National Staff in Bangladesh.
