Job Context:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world’s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC are preparing to launch an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2018, DRC will be implementing aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees. As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox’s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.
∎ POSITION PROFILE
∎ Overall purpose of the role:
∎ Promote resiliency, and enhance the capacity, of host communities to identify and mitigate protection concerns through community-based Protection.
∎ To empower youth and women through an access to informal education and vocational trainings
∎ To provide a quality access to information, educational and cultural resources
∎ To foster social cohesion and strengthen communities’ resilience through the promotion of community interaction and participation
∎ Key stakeholders: (internal and external)
∎ Refugee communities including DRC volunteers
∎ DRC programme staff
∎ Site authority
∎ Type of contract: National contract
∎ Employment Band: H, Non-Managerial
∎ Start date: As soon as possible
∎ Duty station: Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mobilize and build strong rapport with host communities through consistent engagement with Community groups and adhering to dignified, culturally sensitive approaches
∎ Plan activities, set up the Ideas Box space and welcome users
∎ Implement facilitate and Lead activities and groups, and organize periods of free use, using the content and tools of the Ideas Box
∎ Guide the public in the use of digital tools and different resources of the Ideas box.
∎ Accompany other partners for the implementation of co-leaded activities
∎ Capacity build training and workshop to IDEASBOX community group members
∎ Work closely with community groups, with ongoing feedback from CBP Team leader, to facilitate the development and implementation of IDEASBOX activities
∎ Collaborate with CBP Team Leader on community group capacity building methods by collaborating on the development of participatory tools, awareness raising sessions and training materials
∎ Prepare daily and weekly reports of activities to be compiled for donor reporting; process procurement requests
∎ Share feedback on contents and activities and suggest improvements
∎ Work closely with DRC protection teams (GBV, Child Protection and General Protection and Host Community units) and other DRC programs.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience working or volunteering directly with vulnerable populations (24 months or more)
∎ Superior communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, and active listening capabilities, with diverse groups of people
∎ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
∎ Report writing in English
∎ Project Management Cycle
∎ Must be willing to work during Friday’s and Holidays if requested.
∎ Languages: (indicate fluency level)
∎ Chittagonian and Bangla (Intermediate to advanced)
∎ English (Intermediate)
