Job Context:
∎ The Danish Refugee Council (DRC), one of the world`s leading NGOs, with a focus on responding to displacement, have been registered in Bangladesh since 2013. In 2017, in response to the Rohingya influx, DRC launched an integrated program of support to the government in site management, shelter/NFI and protection. In 2018 and 2019 DRC implemented aid projects in support of the host communities most affected by the influx of refugees. As a key part of this, DRC opened a main office in Cox`s Bazar, and a support/liaison office in Dhaka.
∎ Overall purpose of the role: DRC is currently looking for a highly qualified Protection Information Management (PIM) Specialist for a 3-month contract in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh (with possibility of extension based on funding and performance). This is an opportunity for an experienced information management (IM) specialist to support DRC`s protection program, covering general protection, Child Protection and GBV interventions and working across twelve refugee camps and in two host community settings on the Bangladesh/Myanmar border.
∎ Geographic scope: Area (Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh)
∎ This role has an area focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines within the project. DRC`s protection activities in Cox`s Bazar include protection monitoring, case management and community-based protection programming in both refugee camps and host communities. DRC`s general protection program operates in close collaboration and coordination with DRC`s Child Protection and GBV program teams, as well as with shelter/NFI and site management (SMS).
∎ PIM Specialist will be part of the DRC Protection team, working closely with Protection Manager and under direct guidance and supervision of Information Management Manager. Protection IM Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining information management tools for protection related activities (assessments, community profiling, monitoring, case management, daily activity tracking, etc.) and supporting data and information processing, analysis and reporting. This position will be based in Cox`s Bazar with occasional travel to DRC project sites in refugee camps and host communities.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Information management strategy and standards
∎ Contribute to the development of DRC's information management strategy by reviewing information needs and gaps, evaluating current information management processes and tools and drafting an information collection and management plan in support of DRC's operations.
∎ Ensure the compliance of information systems and process with the applicable standards and guidelines related to information management and data protection, including the Protection Information Management (PIM) standards and principles and DRC's internal guidelines.
∎ Data management and analysis
∎ Organize and manage data input from data collection forms and conduct initial analysis of the data
∎ Based on the data collected, conduct needs and gap identification for Protection activities
∎ Monitor, improve and update all the required trackers for Protection activities
∎ Maintain general protection case management and contribute to design changes as required
∎ Ensure availability of updated and quality information for informed decision-making by DRC's program team by identifying pertinent variables, including analysing and interpreting multiples datasets, identifying trends and patterns in protection issues and humanitarian needs affecting DRC's populations of concerns.
∎ Information dissemination
∎ Draft information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into graphic products to facilitate the dissemination of information to external stakeholders for the purpose of reporting, information sharing and advocacy. To this end, designs the layouts of reporting and presentation templates using graphic design programs ensuring the attractiveness and clarity of the information products.
∎ Contribute to the development and implementation of a dissemination plan for all information products, including the definition of standard operating procedures for clearing information products for release.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 3-5 year(s) of relevant experience at the national or international level in information management
∎ Knowledge of different data collection methodologies and proven capacity to analyse statistical information
∎ Proven abilities in data collection, compilation, analysis and reporting with ability to write in a clear and concise manner and effective oral communication
∎ Proven skills in infographic management
