Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ As part of the Protection Unit, and under the direct supervision of the National Child Protection Officer and in close coordination with the Child Protection Officer, the incumbent will:
∎ 1. Assist in the supervision, mentoring and on-the-job coaching of the child protection case workers, assisting them in child protection cases. When needed and feasible, coordinate a response to child protection cases of IOM's area of concern.
∎ 2. Coordinate activities of Child Protection and other Protection staff in the field and assist them in implementing activities, and building their capacity on Protection threats and risks, particularly those exposed to children.
∎ 3. Participate in inter-agency child protection related fora, working groups, case management task force, workshops, seminars and other meetings in close coordination with the supervisor.
∎ 4. Assist the National Child Protection Officer in developing, managing and monitoring child protection related activities and supporting the integration of child protection interventions the Protection Unit, and with other IOM units.
∎ 5. Contribute to outreach efforts by conducting activities in the field, coordinating with IOM other units and partners, and developing and disseminating visibility initiatives for advocacy and engagement with communications and media on a range of protection issues, including child protection.
∎ 6. Support the drafting of content with technical inputs and compiled and analyzed IOM data for proposals and reporting requirements, particularly regarding child protection interventions.
∎ 7. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in emergency operations and liaison with other UN and non-UN humanitarian actors.
