∎ • At least 04 years working experience, preferably in the similar field. Experiences may be relaxed for highly qualified person
∎ • Knowledge and experience to work in Anticipatory Action, DRR, and emergency response
∎ • Good working relationships with colleagues, partners, external actors and allies
∎ • Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines
∎ • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
∎ • Strong facilitation and training skills.
∎ • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) is an organization for sustainable development working in greater Chattogram division since 1985. YPSA is implementing a project on “Child-centered anticipatory Action for better preparedness of communities and local institution in Northern & Coastal area in Bangladesh” in Chattogram district (Chattogram City Corporation & Banshkhali Upazila) in partnership with Save the Children. YPSA is inviting application from the experienced professionals with proven track record for the following position for the Project.
∎ Job Title: Project Officer
∎ Job location: Chattogram (Chattogram City/Banshkhali Upazila)
∎ Duration: 1st March 2024 to 31st August 2026
∎ No. of vacancy: 04 (Chattogram City and Banshkhali Upazila)
∎ Job responsibilities:
∎ • Support the Project Manager to develop project plan & project budget and report.
∎ • Monitor, Coordinate and implement the activities in the field level as per the project plan.
∎ • Maintain continuous communication with community/leaders, local government, civil society, like minded NGOs and public representatives in the project area
∎ • Support to capacity building of volunteers, district-level resource pool, DMCs, children and youth forums and interpretation groups on Anticipatory Action.
∎ • Facilitate child-centered, community-based risk analysis and vulnerability assessment.
∎ • Support to develop and disseminate inclusive voice message and sector-specific (Agriculture, Wash and Shelter) advisory message to at-risk community.
∎ • Support to identify the gaps in existing Early Warning Systems (EWS) to foster humanitarian Anticipatory actions.
∎ • Identify community led small-scale, gender-sensitive, child-friendly Early Actions for cyclones and landslides.
∎ • Implement gender-sensitive, child-friendly Anticipatory Actions at community level.
∎ • Distribute emergency cash and the stocks to vulnerable families and cash support to women-led and vulnerable small business owners to protect livelihoods.
∎ • Facilitate different training, meeting, workshop and orientations with different stakeholders
∎ • Maintain regular coordination and relationship with local administration, relevant government departments, local government, DMCs and other stakeholders
∎ • Supervise and monitor the work of Assistant Program Officer and provide day to day support in implementation
∎ • Produce and provide program/event report.
∎ • Maintain gender-sensitive approach in all stages and maintain safeguarding measures
∎ • Monitor and follow up Project activities in the targeted areas.
∎ • Any other task assigned by the Management
