Job Context:

∎ The Project Officer will support the Project Manager and Head of Programs in implementation, monitoring, evaluation and documentation of the STEP project at Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district though the close coordination of the project team.
∎ Working Conditions:
∎ The position is based in Kalapra Upazila of Patuakhali district. And the recruitment will be fixed term contract.
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some overtime hours to attend external meetings.
∎ From time to time local/day long travel may be required to reach different working and remote areas within the Patuakhali District.
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor, or country office from time to time.
∎ Yearly renewable the contract based on fund availability and performance.
∎ Following of Cordaid HR, Admin and Finance related policies strictly.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Orient the project activities at local level stakeholders:
∎ Organize union, upazila and district level workshop and consultation meeting to orient the project activities and strategy
∎ Support in Formation/reformation and activation of CBOs (Women's Committees, women led organizations, Youth volunteer groups & youth led organizations, Adolescent clubs/groups and capacity development of CBOs
∎ Establish network with the GO & NGO at local level
∎ Closely work with the team members to organize different workshop at local specifically disaster management committee, GO-NGO
∎ Implement the project activities in time:
∎ Develop the detailed implementation plan (DIP) in close collaboration with project Manager
∎ Develop the capacity of the community mobilizers to implement the project activities in time.
∎ Staff capacity building training, orientation and meeting to implement the project.
∎ Play the key role to organize project Inception meeting with local authority at District, Upazila and Union level
∎ Facilitate the community mobilizers to sensitize and mobilize CBOs (Women committee, youth groups and adolescent clubs) to create a culture of preparedness at community level through meetings, training and workshops.
∎ Enhance the capacity of Shelter Management Committee (SMCs) on shelter readiness to face shock and stress
∎ Enhance the capacity of DMCs, CBOs and local stakeholders to develop risk informed early action plan at local level.
∎ Support to conduct the context specific study through stakeholder's consultation to enable and guide forecast based early actions
∎ Support local level relevant stakeholders to establish networking and promoting risk informed forecast based early action protocol at local level.
∎ Organize dissemination workshop at Upazila and District level.
∎ Implement the small-scale FbF option (Pilot financing) to test the effectiveness of the forecast based early action system.
∎ Monitoring and Reporting:
∎ Closely monitor the achievements against target.
∎ Provide the feedback to achieve the target in time.
∎ Assist to develop the monthly, quarterly and annual report preparation.
∎ Support M& E officer for updating internal databases/MIS with key Cordaid recording mechanisms on project progress, key documentation etc.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 3 years' experience in the development field and preference will be given on DRR, humanitarian and resilience livelihoods work in cyclone prone area in coastal districts.
∎ Basic knowledge on disaster management system at local level specifically UDMC and UzDMC
∎ Experience in capacity building of the disaster management committee at union, upazila and district level
∎ Good team member and skill team management and coordination skill with the government and other disaster relevant stakeholders.
∎ Good in communication skills specifically presentation and capacity building of the staff
∎ Experience working with government/governance stakeholders at a local level
∎ Experience working within the NGO context at a field level.
∎ Willingness to drive motorcycle and local transport in remote areas.
