Job Context:
∎ Bangladesh Society for the Change and Advocacy Nexus (B-SCAN) invites application from the Bangladeshi nationals for the position of "Project Officer, Research & Advocacy" for Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) supported by Plan International Bangladesh. B-SCAN is women leaded disabled people`s organization (DPO) which is working for ensuring accessibility of persons with disabilities in education, reproductive health rights, transport facility and other rights mentioned in CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities). It consists of seven members headed Executive Committee among them six are persons with disabilities.
∎ REPORT TO: President, B-SCAN.
∎ SUPERVISEE: President, B-SCAN through Executive Committee.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide guidance and advice to the programs management team on technical issues of Advocacy and Gender mainstreaming in projects.
∎ Network and maintain dialogue with relevant stakeholders e.g. Government Institutions, National and International Development Organizations to ensure collaboration, synergy and sharing of experiences on gender issues.
∎ Lead assessment and research activities at the community level to gather information and analysis on gender and advocacy issues.
∎ Track progress and provide data on gender and advocacy issues
∎ Develop a plan to create awareness among staff and partner communities on how to lead the documentation and sharing of lessons on advocacy and Gender best programming practices
∎ Lead training workshops for relevant stakeholders, staff and key actors on advocacy and Gender related topics;
∎ Support preparation and dissemination of information related to gender issues that are relevant to the women enterprises project.
∎ Support the monitoring, evaluation and reporting on gender mainstreaming by ensuring the collection of relevant baseline information and formulation of indicators that are sensitive to gender.
∎ Any other works assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience on the advocacy of gender based violence against women with disabilities.
∎ Experience on work with Disabled People's Organization (DPOs)
∎ Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
∎ Knowledge in persons with disability sector especially in cross persons with disability would be an asset.
∎ Strong interpersonal communication, facilitation, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills.
∎ Good understanding on CRPD & SDG, spontaneous idea generation, concept note writing and capacity to input policy review.
∎ Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages (Bangla & English).
∎ Thorough understanding of national and international policies, practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.
∎ Women and Persons with Disabilities are also encouraged to apply.
Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
