∎ The successful candidate will be a part of a research team formed to collect qualitative data on the topic called “Scientific Evaluation of the Psychosocial Impacts of Baby Friendly Spaces in Low-Resource Humanitarian Settings”.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mission 1: Assist in conducting qualitative surveys through field work (host communities and Rohingya camps at ACF working areas)
∎ Preparation and note taking in focus groups, in-depth interviews
∎ Contributing to the finalization of research tools/discussion guides (questions asked in interviews and focus groups) according to the local context.
∎ Recruiting potential research participants
∎ Ensure that the discussions are all recorded on the digital audio recorder and uploaded to a computer
∎ Remain attentive and flexible enough to follow up on unexpected information, and relay this information to the supervisor
∎ Supporting qualitative survey manager in all steps of the data collection phase
∎ Exhibit sensitivity in community discussions around program participation, and any potential challenges that beneficiaries may face
∎ Mission 2: Interpret/translate spoken/written statements between local language(s) and English
∎ Translate/transcribe interview and focus group discussion record from local language to English
∎ In collaboration with survey manager, verify the transcribed data for clarity and correctness before submission
∎ Attentively listen to audio recordings of focus group discussions and add supplementary detail to typed notes
∎ Attentively follow interviews and provide complete and accurate interpretation
∎ Accurately translate data into English
∎ Accurately type up notes in English from interviews
∎ Ensure appropriate data management including regular data back-ups/sharing by email
∎ Respond to follow up questions of clarification on transcription/translation
∎ Mission 3: Support to the data entry and management
∎ Provide significant support to the Data Manager, including ongoing verification of data entered during the data entry process
∎ Ensure appropriate data management including regular data back ups
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ More than 1 year experience in conducting, translating and transcribing focus group discussions and key informant interviews.
∎ Fluency in Bengali and Chittagonian dialect
∎ Fluency in English
∎ Knowledge of informatics: MS Word, MS Excel and other data collection tools
∎ Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
Salary: Tk. 55000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Festival Bonus: 02 basic salary per year.
∎ Provident Fund: 7.5% of Basic Salary.
∎ End of Contract Benefits: As per organization policy.
∎ Medical coverage: 80% hospitalization coverage medical expenses (max limit BDT 120,000 per year).
