Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

This position will execute school operation and supervise the teaching volunteers. This position will identify the operational risk factors proactively.

  • Conduct school supervision, follow-up, and field visits.

  • Carry out surveys to identify learners and support their enrolment in schools.

  • Engage with the community through parents’ meetings, SMC (School Management Committee) meetings, and awareness sessions.

  • Conduct practice teaching sessions, TLC (Teaching Learning Circle), and capacity-building activities for teachers to improve teaching quality.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities, progress, and challenges.

  • Ensure timely distribution and availability of materials for students, teachers, and schools.

  • Monitor school operations, identify problems, and take necessary steps to solve them.

  • Ensure quality education is maintained in the schools through regular monitoring and support.

  • Track and ensure student attendance and follow up with families when absenteeism occurs.

  • Promote and maintain a learner-friendly environment in the classroom and school. Execute school operating plan and oversee logistics of centres and overall management.

  • Ensure proper use of teaching learning materials in classroom and maintain stock position accordingly.

  • Guide and support the teaching volunteers to develop their capacity. 

  • Identify the operational risk factors of the programme proactively and address those issues properly.

  • Liaison with local community and stakeholders to represent BRAC appropriately.

  • Sign and adhere to code of conduct.

Safeguarding:

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
