Job Context:
∎ Resource Integration Centre (RIC) is a national NGO since 1981 in Bangladesh. RIC is implementing General Food Assistance Programme funded by WFP in Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar District RIC is seeking application from the potential candidate on the below position:
∎ Position: Project Officer (Mechanical/Electrical Engineer)
∎ PROGRAM: General Food Assistance, WFP Location: Palongkhali, Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar.
∎ Salary: Tk. 60,000/- Per moth (Consolidated) Post type: Contract (January` 2022 - December` 2022)
∎ Staff reportable to: Programme Manager
∎ Staff maintain liaison with: Outlet Supervisor, Assistant Outlet Supervisor, Generator & Electrical Support Assistant and WFP Officials
∎ Staff based at Outlet, Palonkhali, Ukhiya.
∎ Working Hours & Location : for four outlets and will work 6 days a week
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Mechanical Engineer will ensure smooth power supply in the outlets.
∎ He will responsible for all maintenance of generator and electricity supply in the outlet during transaction.
∎ Provide effective leadership and management of "generator / electrical support assistant" - working in the camps.
∎ He will oversee and guide the Generator & Electrical Support Assistants in each outlet. Conduct training / demonstration for staffs/ beneficiaries for usage & safety of the generators & other electrical appliances.
∎ Ability & capable for trouble shooting with any mechanical & electrical difficulties / hazards in the camps.
∎ Ability & capable for trouble shooting with any mechanical & electrical difficulties / hazards in the outlets.
∎ Monitor smooth operation of the generators/machines/electrical appliances through regular & planned field visits in the retail outlets.
∎ Communicate & maintain liaison with program stakeholders, government officials, donors, other non-government organizations, communities and others.
∎ The Project Officer (Electrical/Mechanical) will be responsible for overall management of heave duty generators & other electrical wiring/connection/equipment/appliances installed in the outlets.
∎ Responsible for all maintenance of generator, electricity supply and necessary wirings in the outlet during transaction;
∎ Preparation of reports (monthly, quarterly and yearly) maintenance, expenditure and work plan.
∎ Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ At least 3 Years in National or International organization. Working Experience in Rohingya Camps with UN or World bank funded project will be prioritized.
∎ Previous experience with direct management of smooth power supply and efficient operation of heavy-duty generator for any factory/outlet/project.
∎ Experience with WFP Project Management is an advantage.
∎ Sound Knowledge on heavy duty generators & electrical load distribution, connection and its operation.
∎ Deep knowledge of workforce development for operating and maintaining heavy duty power generator.
∎ Experienced in ensuring Electrical power supply and maintenance.
∎ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams and multi-cultural environments
∎ Fluency in Bengali and English is required. Chittagong local languages is preferable.
∎ Good computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, Typing (Both English and Bangla).
∎ Excellent E-mail communication both with donors and partners.
∎ Habituated to extensive field work
∎ Need reporting skills and mail communication to WFP
