Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Project Officer – Livestock will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of livestock and poultry-related livelihood interventions at the field level. The position will provide technical guidance to beneficiaries, ensure quality implementation of livestock activities, monitor farm performance, maintain programme documentation and coordinate with relevant stakeholders under the supervision of the Assistant Technical Specialist (Livestock).

  • Implement livestock and poultry activities in accordance with project plans, technical guidelines, and donor requirements.

  • Provide technical support and regular advisory services to beneficiaries on sheep, goat, cattle, broiler, and layer farming.

  • Conduct routine field visits to monitor animal health, farm management, productivity, and bio security practices.

  • Facilitate and liaison with different stakeholders to ensure smooth operation.

  • Assist monthly, quarterly, and activity reports preparation, including success stories and progress updates for project management.

  • Identify field challenges, provide technical recommendations, and ensure timely corrective actions under supervisor guidance.

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organization and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
